Meyers Falls Depot, Spokane Falls & Northeastern Railroad, circa 1911

In December 1911, here at the Meyers Falls Depot, you would have seen Henry and Cora Michael along with their first seven children finishing a nearly two-hundred-mile journey from Chicago.

Many family members are buried at the Garden Valley Cemetery. If you get a chance to look around, see if you can find the Michael name, but also look for Reed, Foster, Staehly, and Dodd.

Stony Acres School #19, prior to 1955

Henry and Cora Michael’s children Reeda, Jon, Ina, Fred, Ethel, Jay, Minnie, and Orin would have all gone to Stony Acres School #19. By 1955, their grandchildren Willard Michael, Genevieve Michael, Jon Michael, Albert Staehly, Ray Staehly, Fred N. Michael, Evelyn Michael, Delmar Ralph Foster, Deon Foster, Larry Foster, Leo Fuller, Cora Jean Fuller, Billy Michael, Danny Michael, and Rob Michael would also have all spent some of their school years here.
